Exclusive: Beyonce Sparkles At World Humanitarian Day Launch

Beyonce sparkled last night at the World Humanitarian Day Launch held at the United Nations in New York. The award winning singer kept a crowd full of celebrities, UN ambassadors, musicians and more patiently waiting for her to hit the stage to perform and shoot a music video for the single “I Was Here.”

As the anticipation grew Anderson Cooper conducted an informative Q&A session with former Sierra Leone child soldier Ishmael Beah, the beautiful Valerie Amos, Erin Dinan the owner of One Sandwich at a Time and more. There were also a couple of empowering short films shown in between interviews, one including Ziggy Marley.

Then the time came where King B walked onstage rocking a white form fitted long sequence gown. And with the audience amazed by her presence, she performed the Diane Warren written track “I Was Here.” The combination of her beautiful voice, powerful visual images of children in third world countries and humane acts, made everyone realize how special it was to be apart of the night.

Footage from the event and her performance will not be released until August 19th, so don’t forget to check back. Also, if you haven’t done so already be sure to join the movement and add your voice here.

Special thanks to Beyonce and the UN for the invite. FWO is an even bigger fan of both now! Here are a few pics posted via Beyonce from yesterday and her video message.
